Goodness Gracious, you're everyone's favourite do-gooder Jean Grey, also known as Phoenix. You look after your teammates, get along with everyone, have a wonderful man who loves you and have pretty much achieved perfection. But look out when you're PMSing and you become Dark Phoenix: a raging homicidal bitch with a knack for causing trouble.

What X-Men Character are You?

I am Wednesday's Child

What day are you?

how true, how true... *tears in eyes*
Summary of the Day

got woken up in the middle of the night... twice, by the beep beeps of my mobile phone... great thanks to Diana (at 2:30am) and my best bud, Frances (at 5:30!)!! *rolls eyes* i managed to fall back into sweet slumber, in case anyone's interested... and rose just in time to get washed up and head out to my ol' attachment office...

CLARKSONS! yup... went back today for a friendly hello, return reseach books (thanks Bee!) and a free yum yum!! *beams* Oh man... i really, really miss working at the office... managed an 8 month stinct there, and i think i'm hooked! *sigh* books/novels (not trashy novels!) were exchanged, latest news (read: gossip) were shared, and i was nearly overcome with a sense of nostalgia... i just missed it so much... *tears in eyes*

lunch was another catching up session with Jane and Vijay... more fun fun fun... we had japanese... as opposed to thai at the amara... more talk of my job prospects (or lack thereof), and holiday plans! sigh... i really wish i knew what my future plans are... all i could answer was 'i dunno... *shrugz*' when asked what my plans were, what i wanted to do after graduation... holiday? study? work? bum around? i just don't have an inkling of what i want... at the moment... i want to finish all my projs and assignments, i want to graduate, i want... an Oyster? at present, i barely have the energy to think of what i'm going to do next week, much less after graduation (7 weeks to go...)!

food for thought, though...

What is YOUR Highschool label?

heh... everyone's just leeching stuff from each other's blog... so this time i pay tribute to my ij sista... *muaks* hehehe.. i think she stole it off someone else too... so there... *satisfied look*

sigh... i'm in a mood... just watched this oh-so-romantic japanese music video... i admit to not understanding a single word being said (sung), but in this case, words aren't necessary... just watch the story unfold... unless the story has nothing to do with the lyrics of the song (which i highly doubt!)... so yea... *lips quiver* really very sad... but does this actually happen in real life? sigh... check it out here...
"projects projects projects"... that's my mantra for the week... it's supposed to be hols this week... operative word being "supposed"... no rest for the wicked... i'm probably gonna head to school everyday this week for tons of projects... Final Year Proj, shipping logistics, bunkering, sale and purchase, marine enviro. safety, port agency, and the list goes on and on and on... sigh... it's tough being a student...

(another 7 weeks to go...) the countdown is ON!
I'm so like lil!

I'm Lil, who are you? by Dru & Lexi

hee... i'm Lil!! the gong-toot-toot one...
hmmm... you guys abolutely have to check out the "Oyster 53"!!! it's absolutely gorgeous!!!! *drools* my dream boat... after the "Aldila", of course... hehehe... i wonder where she is now... sigh... the Oyster's gonna set one back about £585,000 (that's more than S$1.5million!) !! and that's second-hand (*faints* at the thought of a brand new one)!!! well... i did mention that it's a dream, right? nobody wake me up, aye? sigh...

most Oysters are custom built, so seriously, it's a boat owner's dream... it's just gorgeous, groegeous, gorgeous...

(anyone reckon Richard Matthews wants a goddaughter?) *blink* i'd be most willing!! hehehe...

just got back from coffee... this place lewis brought us had really good coffee... and it was cheap!! hehehe... i know lewis is bound to make some comment abt this... he's a firm believer in cheap coffee (cheap doesn't mean lousy!). it's easier to ask him to drive across the entire island to pick you up than to get him to fork out 5bucks for a starbucks! hehehe... but to tell the truth... drinks cost only S$2.30 (for all 3 of us!)! and it was mighty good, too...

hmmm... yeap... finally hit the big 2-0... how do i feel? nothing. words of wisdom? i think not. it's actually been just another day. i didn't feel fireworks going off or whatever one is supposed to feel the moment she starts off on the 3rd decade of her life... (the 1st being 1-10yrs, 2nd being 11-20) hehehe... hmm... my best friend has openly declared that i'm in denial...*pouts* but the t ruth is... i do feel 16!! so why not think i'm 16, too? oh well... and she's pasted it on her blog no less!! heh... i feel so wronged!! *muaks* fran... i'm thinking that since we've had, what? 8 yrs of friendship... even with the distance... we just might be stuck together for the rest of our lives...

Frances, my best bud... is still down with a virus... and to think she's a med student! hehehe... what is the world coming to? the poor babe has been sick for a good part of 3 weeks! die... you bad, bad virus... dieeeeeeeee..... sure hope that works! *beams*

sleep...
hmmm... i wanna tell the people who lunched with me today... I LOVE YOU!!! thanks for a wonderful birthday!!!

Lunch was at Lemongrass... a thai eating place that was absolutely scrumptous! yummy tom yam soup... fresh veggies... even yummier fish, and some kinda chicken... you drooling just yet?? hehehe... and guess what? i had 16 candles on my cake!!! *jumps ard happily* heh... and for the first time in my life... i picked numbers for 4D! just like they show on tv... hehehehe... lewis made me do it! and sad to say, the numbers 0242 didn't come out tops... in fact, it didn't come out at all... *shrugs* sorrie loowee... heeee...

after that it was coffee at NYDC... lots of fooling around with my polariod camera... nice pics... which i wil post... as soon as i figure out how to link them to here!! hahaha... and definately lovely pressies too... *muaks* to diana, lynn, elaine, lewis, esther and jonathan... thanks for a lovely day...

and now i shall sign off, coz loowee is just downstairs, and we're going for coffee!!! hehehe... yes... at 12:30am... ta~
heh... alrighty... gonna do some serious writing now... coz its regarding one of my biggest passions... Sailing!!! yup yup... im talking about the 8th Singapore Straits Regatta... a 5-day sailing affair held frm the 16th-20th of January... which involved 3 of S'pore's major sail clubs... the Republic of Singapore Yacht Club, Raffles Marina and Changi Sailing Club... and the beautiful Riau Yacht Club in Batam...

Day 1 saw the fleet race from the RSYC to Raffles in Tuas... a race which i missed, coz i had to attend something called school and lectures... but i joined from Day 2 onwards.. which proved to be great sailing! we did a passage race from Raffles to the beautiful marina in Nongsa Point... spent Day 3 there, and sailed yet another passage race back to CSC on Day 4... the last day was spent on local waters just off Changi...

now on to the more important bits... i sailed the straits on "Cassandra"... a gorgeous Beneteau 50... and she's totally splendid!! she has the works of a totally serious racing boat... hehehee... snacks and beer aplenty (great thanks to Raffles International for the 200 bottles! Cheers Michael!) i think i can safely say that we were the only boat that had music blasting through the passage races!! and one of the media who sailed with us said that we were the first (in his line of experience, anyway)! but it was great fun!!

the skipper, Chris Schuler, was excellent! best skip ever! and i'm not just saying that... he knew his stuff... and he knew how to get his crew to do it! a point to note is... he never actually shouted at the crew at all... there wasn't much yelling on board Cassandra, except in the beginning when we were still getting used to each other... and the only time Chris ever threw his temper was when the silly people on the markboat started shifting the mark in one of the windward/leeward courses... we hadn't even rounded it yet!! so there we were... all of us shouting and waving at them... when Chris just went "We haven't crossed yet, you fucking idiots! Leave it alone!" needless to say, those in the cockpit with skip were stunned! heh... wadaya know? Chris was one of us too!! hahah... turns out the race committee abandoned the race... *grumble*

next... the wonderful crew!!! it's wonderful how the group of us bonded over those few days of intense sailing! there were pple frm France and the UK... Germany... and only 2 Singaporeans... Penny, Steph, Caroline, Guilaume, Michael, Tileman, Ken... all deserve a mention! it was totally wonderful... we girls even managed to squeeze in gossip sessions during passage races!!

needless to say... no battle (and the racing waters were most definately battle fields) is complete without war wounds!! yours truly had planty to boast about... especially this one just below the knee... where i had 3 small bruises that joined together to form one ginormous (read: jai-nor-mous) bruise! all on board have suffered similiar fates... the girls even vied with each other for the award of "Most Wounded Crew"! i'm thinking penny won hands down! but what takes the cake in all the wounds i saw was Andrew -The Dogs II- Steadman's! the poor guy had a HUMONGOUS orr-che (bruise) on his hip! and i was told it took him nearly a month to recover... so i reckon top prize should go to him!

another point to note was the free flow of beer... sponsered by Brewerkz! beer was flowing non-stop... even to the extent that when i requested for a cup of coffee (well, one can't be guzzeling beer the entire day, can they?), i was told they it was out, and got handed a cup of ice cold beer instead! *shakes head* you can't say i didn't try! hahaha...

met loads of great people during the regatta too... *big hugs* to all on board The Dogs II, Joan Marie (Cassandra's biggest competitor), Temptest and Jangan Main Main (Don't Play Play ahh!)!!

oh... did i add that WE WON!!! CASSANDRA WON!!! YAY~!!! (no shame...) haahahaa...

i'll have to say that the straits has given me tons of wonderful memories... and it has renewed my passion in sailing... i had a wonderful 4 days of good, intense sailing... and i'm definately in a hurry to repeat the experience... so the next time an opportunity like this arises again... there's no need to ask what my decision will be, eh? hehehe... tough call, but i think i'm definately gonna take leave (read: skip) from school! heee...

hmmm... so till the next race... "Who let the dogs out??"

just got back from the family dinner... for the birthday... went to this brazillian restaurent along sixth avenue... pretty good place... excellent rice and some kind of beef... *shrugz* not much of a meat person... but the sald bar was good... andyay, dad ordered a bottle of red... cost more than $80! which was pretty extragavent... unfortunately, i'm more of a white person... so i didn't quite enjoy it, so that was a waste... oh well...

i really enjoyed dinner... it's been a long, long while since we actually sat down to eat as a family... i mean, jerm and i barely bickered (which in itself is a miracle!), mom finally ended her cold war with dad (sorta) and it was just... enjoyable... if only things could be like this all the time, eh? thank the Lord for the little tid bits, i suppose...

annjoo's gonna be going to thailand for some overseas exercise... why the SAF would send a charge clerk overseas is beyond me... *shrugz* just received an email from him... hehehe... the usual complaints... and the usual plea for us to keep him in our prayers... so heres to AJ... i'll be praying for you... *grin* -satisfied?-

jerm is watching some tamil show on the TV now... the dude is seriously bored... *rolls eyes*

seeing as today is a public holiday (which one is this? i didn't even know it was a PH till last night), one would have thought that i wouldn't have to teach today... Alas! that is not to be... just rang up the club, and spoke to Todd (the useless bum!)... the kids are coming... the kids are coming!!! sigh... don't they ever take a break? oh well... but they're kinda cute, really... and hilarious at times... quite lovable, actually... but mostly... just irritating and aggravating! hahahahaha... wait for their photos to be posted... as soon as my gallery links are up!

oh well... shall leave for my class... pray for me!!!
alrighty... now my blog is ready to face the world!! hehehe... it finally looks somewhat decent (to my standards, anyway) and i'm feeling good about it... i like what i've done with it... i know i don't sound very modest, but ive really put in effort in this... hehe... like my new baby!! stay tuned!! coz there are definately more stuff popping up... currently trying (very hard) to set up the gallery, and more links... on diving, SAILING(!), and many more..

BIG THANKS to my momma... *muaks* sasa... you rock!! oh yah... and my ij sista too....
okay... all you HTML geeks out there... you have my utmost admiration! how do you do it?!?! i've been fiddling around with this blasted blog since the last entry... and i have yet to accomplish anything! at least, not without the help of sasa... *muaks momma* gonna take break... even you've gotta admit, 3 hours is a long time... i've had enough of ass-kicking (mine getting kicked, that is) in the oh-so-wonderful world of HTML... for the moment, anyway... ta~

it's over... it's all over~!!!!!! i'm freeeeeeeee... well, not really... but at least i don't have the exam cloud hovering above my head anymore... now i can concerntrate on my projects/assignments... sigh... whole week gona devoted to that... thanks goodness i didn't go ahead with the idea of a cruise... oh well...
bah... i'm back again... marine insurance sucks... *pouts*
sigh... the woes of a student during exam week... i've been inducing self-touture the whole day... with this raging headache/fever constantly reminding me of the sacrifices i make just to attain that piece of paper... *grumble* Marine Insurance... sigh... so many clauses to remember... oh well...

*thiNk happy thoughts* I PASSED!!! Desmond just called to tell me i passed my National Race Officer test!! yay!!! heard from Mark that only 17 out of the 39 passed... and I'M ONE OF THEM!!! yeeeeeeeeeeeeehah! now all i need is my NCAP results... and i'm all set! for what, i don't know yet... not quite ready to box up 3 years worth of maritime studies to consider teaching sailing full-time... but it's an option, i suppose... *shrugz*

anyway... back to more self-torture...

p/s CONGRATS to Andrew on passing his Yachtmaster Offshore Navigation course and Coastal Skipper exam...

alright... I've spent the better part of the hour trying to figure out how this thing works, and I'm sad to say, I have once again lost out to the blasted thing people call HTML! *arrgh!* I can't seem to add anything else to the blog besides, well, blogs... grrrr... I need help!! either that, or it's gonna be a real boring place to visit... *appeals to all the kind hearted people out there*
right... this is what some people would call, a maiden attempt, but if you ask me, it's courage!! seriously, I mean, everyone I know has a beautiful blog! they're creative, interesting, and all done by people who have more knowledge on HTML and all that stuff than I will ever know in this lifetime... and here I am, trying to do the same... with a 'I'll ask dye if I really can't make sense of this crap' kind of mentality... and it seems to be working pretty fine... IF you're reading this now... I should be on the right path... I hope... oh well...
