:: Hmmm... ::
hey kids! funny how things happen, eh? when i started this blog, i used to post numerous entries every day... then it got to about one per day... then less, and less... and before you know it, i'm posting once a month!!! apologies... it wasn't intentional... anyway, i suppose it's update time...
port dickson was fun... the 3 days of racing were excellent!it started out nicely when we only left the marina at noon (Race Officer didn't think we needed to go out drifting while waiting for the winds to pick up)... but slowly led to a storm that hit us with no mercy! 40 knots on the wind indicator, it was! i kid you not... i sure was freaked out the first day... and was actually freezing by the time we got into the marina... ]
day 2 was the same... but we were prepared for it this time... and with 2 different storms coming together, it seemed like a perfect storm! excuse the pun... *grin* bad weather seemed to be awaiting for 'Next Page', and always just before the finish line!!! talk abt bad luck, aye? and i was so looking forward to day 2's race as it was supposed to be a passage, but was changed to a windward/leeward so that more races could be clocked in...
the last and final day... boats were out of the marina by 10, to once again clock in more races... BAD CALL! the digit on the wind indicator show nada, and slowly built up to 2 knots, before falling to a steady ONE!! so guess what happened? out came the cans of golden brew, and the guys started sharing stories of their foolish past... arrest stories, and their all time favourite activity of bitching abt Ferret (a sailor on board another boat!)! and who was the one who said that girls gossiped the most? *blink* hahahaha... but here's to all on board 'Next Page' for the ASEAN... Steve, Alasdair, Mark-Julie-Jewell, Rich, Billy... thanks for a great regatta, with tons more fun! till the next delivery... *raises bottle of RM$18 Carlsberg*
i have to say... the time in port dickson was spent mostly in the Sailors' Drink Shop of the Admiral Cover Marina... that's where you found most of the sailors, most of the time... Postponement of races? No worries, to the bar we'll go! Back after a long day's race?Where else can we cool down but at the Sailors' Drink Shop! i suppose you get the picture? hehehe... and the way the guys bitched! i was amazed! from the price of the beer, to the amount of taxes Malaysians had to pay, to the music the bar played, and everything else between! but still... i had a blast!! i'm so looking forward to the Straits Regatta... and have a repeat performance of this year's Straits...
on a last note... FRAN'S COMING TO TOWN!! that's right... she'll be in tomorrow afternoon... and will be staying for 6 whole weeks! *grin*
so that's me folks... from then till now... don't kill yourselves...
