:: My Sailing Day! ::
yes peeps... today is FINALLY my sailing day!!! *big grin*
its the CSC Tiger Cup today. it's usually one of the events that draw a somewhat big crowd. so that's why i chose this race to sail in... figured i needed the adrenalin pumping through my veins... to work myself till i'm exhausted to get these horrid thoughts and feelings out of my system.. if only for a day...
the day started out well... sort of... till a horrible call came through... Sea Yean had just picked me up, and we were on our way to Changi Sailing Club when his phone starts to ring... it went a little like this...
Sea Yean: "Sea Yean. Yeah. Oh hi, Anuar. Hmm...? On the way. Why, what's up? Oh. Oh? Oh. Ooh. Hang on, I'll need to discuss. Okay guys, here's the deal. There's only 2 boats entered today. Hi-Jinks and us. Do we still wanna race?"
-Collective groan-
Li Chin: "What?! Only 2 boats?!"
Hannes: "No way! It's the Tiger Cup!"
Lyn: -Silence-
Hanness: "Might as well forget it. Only 2 boats..."
Li Chin: "Yea... might as well. We'll just sail around, cruise a bit..."
Lyn: "2 boats?!"
Sea Yean: "Anuar? We're not racing. See you at the Club in a bit."
Lyn: "2 boats?!" -still in shock-
heh... you think it's funny?! You think its funny?!?! well, i certaintly didn't!!! i was looking forward to a day of good racing! it's been an age since i was last on a boat, and bloody hell! i wanted to sail! i wanted to race!!! grrr... but nvr mind... maybe a day of cruising was good, too... maybe.
that aside, we arrived at CSC with plenty of smiles and good cheer. Hi-Jinks' crew were already there, and jugs of lovely golden brew were already placed strategically on the table! it was only half past 10! oh well... what can i say? there wasn't going to be a race! so down we sat, and started to catch up on the latest sailing frat. gossip! then Platu shows up. Yay! 3 boats! Maybe we can race!
And we did. We joined the Cats and did a 'round-Ubin' passage. Perhaps a little boring, but heck! at leats there was a purpose to the course, and not just aimless cruising...
All in all, a pretty good day of sailing... there wasn't any pressure, so everyone on board had fun! talking abt mindless nothings... cracking jokes and talking abt dream boats... *grin* of course, my lovely Aldila was mentioned, as was my absolute dream Oyster 55... *dreamy smile*
back on shore... it was back to more consumption of free Tiger beers... and more Tiger beers! hahaha... and of course, more jokes abt falling overboard, being dry/wet, and anythinga nd everything that revolved falling out of a boat!! *groan* it's been two months, guys... GET OVER IT!!!
as usual, John had a ready comeback to that! Hey, i don't have to get over it... you did. D'OH! bested again!
all in all, a great day! it's great to finally meet everyone ater being MIA for the past 2 months...
so that's me folks... from then till now, don't kill yourselves...
