hey kids! i know, i know... its been a long time!!! apologies!

anyway, the time has come! woohoooooo... i'm leaving for Sattahip, Thailand tmr night! soooooooo exciting!!! hahahaha... i'm already anticipating all the SHOPPING i'm gonna do... the first 5 days of sailing are starting to feel like a chore already!!! hehehe... i've not even packed my luggage, and here i am, blogging at this time of night...

the Coronation Cup starts this Friday with a practice race, followed by three race days... us (Tang, Sea Yean, Li Chin and Col. Meta) being the kiasu Singaporeans that we are, have decided to go in one day early, so that's an extra day of practice, and hopefully lots of other fun things like Thai massages, and a long night at the local tavern!!! =P

after the regatta, LI Chin, Tang and yours truely will be heading to Bangkok, while the other 2 boys head home... wooohooooo!!! BANGKOK!!! shop, shop, shop!!! i think i'm gonna swooooooon... hehehe... we're staying an extra 3 days to shop, shop, shop til we drop!! oh man... i can guess that it's gonna be a long month after i get back... gonne be so, so poor!!! *sigh* but enough of that! i'm gonna have the time of my life (or for the week, rather)... i'm hoping this is gonna be a pick-me-up from the horrgible (read: horr-ri-gee-ber) events that hv been plauging me the past few months...

so, anyway, i'll be back on the 8th... so try not to miss me too much... *grin* and if my mom decides to gatecrash my holiday, and join me in Bangkok, i might decide to entend my holiday...

will try to get some updates in between... if the connextion is good, might even do my travelblog along the way...

so that's me folks, from then till now, don't kill yourselves, and see you when i get back!

:: Camp Eco : Mawai ::
Yesterday, I went to Camp Eco, which is in Mawai, Kota Tonggi, in Johore, Malaysia. It's the campsite that Uncle Tonny's been talking abt for the past few years, and we nvr got to see.

So when Uncle Tonny issue an invite for a drive up to Mawai, and on my off day to boot, i agreeded in a heartbeat. Stanley and Tang made up the remainder of the party, and on Saturday morning, we were off!

A nice drive up, we stopped someplace in JB for breakfast, and swiftly continued on out journey tp Camp Eco (read: Ecology). A bit of grocery shopping in down town Kota Tinggi, and were drove the last 20 mins to the Campsite.

I don't know what I expected of Camp Eco, but what I saw definately wasn't it. Camp Eco didn't have electricity, so naturally, no TVs, no radios, no air-conditioning, nothing. In place were platforms up on stilts, with atap roofs and bamboo pillars. I was told that all the pillars in Camp Eco were done by manual piling. talk abt wow!

we looked arrd the place... really interesting, especially for an urban chick like me... on the drive up, we saw cows, and I was like, ARE THOSE COWS? REAL COWS? MOO MOO COWS?! doh... needless to say, i once agian provided entertainment for those ard me, namely Tonny, Stanley and Tang. I was no different at the campsite... wow this, cool that, amazing everything...

but what i really liked, was the sound of silence... it was so, so quiet, so peaceful. the four of us just sat in the dining area, munching on biscuits and diet coke, and talked abt everything, nothing... it really was a great way to spend the day.

i wld like to spend a night there soon. it's a great place to think. when we were there, there wasn't anything like SARS or war or stress or anything. it was just us, living out a day... no need to think of work, of relationships, of anything... soon.

we departed Camp Eco with reluctant hearts, and after a great dinner of one of the freshest fish i've ever had, we began the (now) long journey back home.

Camp Eco is a great place, and the best thing -- there are NO mosquitoes! serious! in the jungle, where there are monkeys and wildboars running amok, where the elephants and tigers roam freely (Uncle Tonny told me this), there are no mosquitoes. just tranquil serenity.

I'll be back. Soon.

Till then, here's a shout out to Uncle Tonny for taking us there... and to Stanley and Tang for the great company!

:: At Last! ::
AT LAST!!! That's right kids, you've guessed it! I've finally finshed my assignment!! All that's left is to email it to my lecturer, then follow up with a faxed copy of the assignment (just in case the alignment of the report goes haywire on their end), and I'm done!! wooohooo!

Anyway, went with Lynn and Dia and Jan to see the wedding gown designer today, and I have to say, my momma makes a darn gorgeous bride!! And I didn't know that designing a wedding gown had so much involved... the designer asked everything! from the color theme to the atmosphere of the reception to the tokens... according to Michelle (the designer), even the type of wine serve played a role! who'd hv thought of that, eh? More details to come tmr... I'll also keep y'all updated on the Coronation Cup plans...

a shout-out to the Grouch! you slept early tonight, so don't complain abt being sleepy tmr, m'kay?

Anyhoo, that's me folks, from then till now, don't kill yrselves!

a special post, just for Jonathan... he's gonna be flying to Shanghai next week... poor thingy... what with that horrible virus spreading like wildfire in China...

the dude has to fly to Shanghai... i mean, why do pple even wanna fly to China at all?! will it kill you to just hibernate whereever you are for a month or so? until more is known of said virus, and till it can be controlled? what's wrong with working from home? get a computer, hook it up, and hv a teleconference!!! isn't that better? and it's cheaper, too!

so com'on! be responsible... STAY PUT!
:: Updates ::
Hey kids! Apologies for being out of action the past half month... things just seemed to go downhill after St Pat's Day last month... and hving a week of GKA didn't help much... throw in the Sing-Siam Regatta, and you get what i am now... just dog-tired... too tired to even sleep well... *shrugz*

we just had the Royal Thai Navy in Singapore the last few days... they came in sometime last week... and i hv to say... a whole club-full of navy guys can be a whee bit overwhelming... me being the anti-social person... i tried to spend as mcuh time as i cld behind the scenes... *grin* i did, i really did!! maybe its the language barrier, maybe... i don't know... i've just been keeping a low profile lately...

the thais hosted a Thank You Dinner for all sailors in the Regatta on Momday, and that was a bit of fun... great catching up with Rupert (read: Lupert), Stanley, Kah Soon, Aileen, Vincent and the rest... Cheers, mates!

Now that the Thais hv left, it's time for a bit of a breather... *phew* and time to focus on school... *sigh* assignment due this friday... better cross fingers that i'll be able to submit my assignment on time... i hope its also time to finally catch up with friends... sorry Mags! we'll meet up this week, i promise! i'll call, i swear!

thanks goes to Fran for blogging in my absence... and to answer her post, yes, i was at work... at A-Roy Thai... drinking Singha beer and munching on mango salad... so technically, that's considered supper, isn't it? even though it was suppose to be a dinner... my nails are a natural color (just had a french manicure on monday) and yes, i do hv a new pair of shoes... *rolls eyes* isn't it horrible when you've got someone who knows what you're up to even thought you havent communicated in weeks?!?! =P yew know i lube yeeeewww, fran...

and to everyone else, HEY! give me a it of time to get my life back together, back under control, and maybe then i'll crawl out of my shell and be the social butterfly that Frances seems to think i am.

in the meantime... don't kill yourselves!
