*continues the countdown* 4 days down... 4 more to go... wooooohooooooo! i'm talking about the Basic Sailing Course i'm instructing at the SAFYC... the sailors have improved tremendously! i don't know how, really... hmmm... maybe it's coz of the instructors? you think? *looks to Doris & Mokthar iwth a big smile*
the winds were missng in action this weekend... and the current was working overtime... what this basically means is that my sailors had a hell of a time trying to sail! and the course i set for them this morning... some couldn't even make it to the marks!!! the wind was so, so light... and the current was crazy! so, if the sailors can't get to the mark, we'll just have to bring the marks to them... hehehe... you guessed it! we shifted the course... but by then, the timing was just right for them to head back to shore for a quick lunch, grrrrrrr... thanks anyway, Andrew! *psst... nice trunks!*
oh well... it's been a great weekend... and i just realised something... one of the things i'll never regret doing is teaching sailing... i admit, there are times when i ask myself... "you loser... don't you have better things to do than spend your weekends at the sailclubs? and of all things, teach sailing?!?!"... trust me... this conversation has been going on for a very long time... but then, all i need is a day or two of the ones i had today... and i'm once again inspired and charged up for another group of new sailors... it's a wonderful feeling... being able to see for yourself what you can do... and in my case, it's imparting a skill... the skill of controling a boat, while doing a million things at the same time... and sailing a dinghy really isn't as easy as people make it out to be... not for the beginner, anyway...
i know the above paragraph is probably loads of bull to y'all... and it's all a jumble of mumblings... but it makes sense to me...
on another note... HAPPY 21ST, WEIQI!! that's right... he's just turned 21, and i'm sure he's gonna kick some ass now! woooohoooo! have a great one!
