:: Rantings... ::
oh boy! it's been a tiring weekend! what can i say? hmm... i'm pooped... or i was, anyway... woke up with the mother of all headaches... pounding on the door which i call my head... and no amount of asprin would help...
spent the whole weekend at the club teaching... and my, my! the sailors in my Basic Sailing Course have improved! yes, indeed-di!!! they shure have... wooooooohoooooooo!! i mean... we were actually considering extending the course... what with the weather not copororating and stuff... we were worried that the sailors wouldn't get enough water time... but noooo! they surprised us (both Mokthar and i) by sailing remarkably well on Sunday... the wind decided to grace us with her presence! and i must say, i really missed her (the wind, in case you were wondering...) the past 2 weeks... but anyhoo... the test for them will be as scheduled... this Sunday, s'matter of fact... and i'm so very, very sure that they're all gonna kick butt!!! wooooohooooooooooooooo.... *does the victory sign*
i love teaching sailing! have i ever told you that? i really, really do! i know... i complain at times... especially when it's my kids... (they are monsters, though... adorable as they are) but i really love it! i mean... i was on the instructor boat with Mokthar... and we were just watching the sailors do their stuff... the wind was excellent for them... and the sun was shining.. not too brightly... the clouds hung overhead... purrrrr-fect for instructors... *big smile* and well... i felt PROUD! i look at those 16 sailors moving beautifully across the waters... and i think back to 3 weeks ago... a mere 21 days... when they knew nothing about sailing... nothing about using the force of the wind to surge the boat forward... (ah... the miacle of it!) and i look at them now! *big big smile* nice feeling... i like this feeling...
anyhow... staggered home last night, ready to flop onto the bed and rest up... but got a call from a bunch of sailing friends to meet up at Steve Walker's... informal Sailor's Night... or something like that... wanted to give it a miss... but decided to go, anyway... and i'm glad i did! it was a blast! the booze was flowing a-plenty... the jokes were horrendous, and the mood was great! it's been a long while since i attended one of these sessions... the last was in January, during the Straits... and i've come to realise how much i miss these get-togethers... seriously... Next Page is the place to hang and just be! *cheers to Steve*
so now you know why i'm pooped... but still... the duties of a student... *sigh* projects and assignments to rush... and an exam coming up on wed... *shudders at the thought* i can say buh-bye to my plans for a quick swim at the pool tomorrow... gonna be in the library slogging...
